Computational Stereoscopic Photography & Cinematography

Stereoscopic 3D provides stereopsis as an additional depth cue and brings a lifelike experience to audiences. Stereoscopic 3D is a critical enabling technology for the emerging AR/VR applications. Stereoscopic 3D content, however, is very difficult to produce as it requires taking care of an additional dimension of depth and avoiding a variety of stereography violations; otherwise audiences can suffer from “3D fatigue”. My goal is to develop computational tools to facilitate the production of stereoscopic content that delivers a pleasant viewing experience.
