Three current areas of research are in (1) very high-speed wireless networks with particular focus on Terahertz networking. The goal is to deliver terabits/sec data rates to users using the enormous available spectrum. (2) Developing watermarking methods for identifying counterfeit manufactured objects, (3) Applying methods from Machine Learning (specifically Deep Learning) to wireless protocol analysis.
