The weather was nice this morning, so I stopped by Accademia bridge on my way to the venue The invited talk Conversations at the break Lunch with Erik's family A talk in the afternoon I skipped the last session to take one last set of Venice pictures in sunlight! . There were lots of people out with their dogs enjoying the nice weather This picture is of the San Travaso canal looking in the direction of the Giudecca Canal. This canal is currently closed for maintenance. After returning my computer and bags to the hotel (Hotel Belle Arti), walked south to the Giudecca canal and then proceeded a little east before looping back to the Accademia bridge. I returned to San Marco Women window shopping at a curious shop near Accademia bridge On the bridge people wait for the perfect light A very cooperative dog in front of the Hotel Belle Arti Dinner with Erik, Lilian, Wouter, and ??? at the Taverna San Travaso. This Taverna was highly recommended by my brother Tom, who is a cruise director on Sea Cloud. The meal certainly lived up to the recommendation! Lilian started with a pesto pasta, I started with fish soup, and Wouter began with vegetable soup. Lilian took this picture of me with my first course Lilian's second course was Monkfish, Erik's was ???. Wouter got this picture of me right before my second course arrived My second course was Cuttlefish (squid) in its own ink Venitian style (with polenta). This was my brother's recommendation. It was excellent! The company was fantastic! We finished with desert. I had a Tiramisu. Wouter had ice cream, which was presented beautifully. I seem to have forgotten to photograph the deserts. After dinner we all enjoyed some Grappa.
