These are the games that tend to have strong story lines. These are the ones that will draw the player along simply because they will want to know what happens next. Most of them also have a secondary experience type, that propels the gameplay along.

These are the adrenaline rush games. The ones that you play to test your skills at reflexes, marksmanship and other such exciting things. Most of these are along the familiar "shoot-em-up" style as it was called.

{M} is for Multiplayer
These are the games that need the interaction of other people. Otherwise they would be well, boring. Most of these were invented before the multiplayer revolution. I have always enjoyed games the most that pitted me against other people. Must be something about my competitive nature.

{P} is for Puzzle, {S} is for Strategy,
Finally, these are the games that try your mind. I see a subtle distinction between Puzzle and Strategy. I define Puzzles as where the player is pitted against logic - and specifically logic challenges devised by the maker of the game. Strategy deals more with being pitted against the computer itself in a challenge to out-think it in a world where the rules are set by the maker of the game.

Robot Chess Strategy 1992 1992 Like Battle Chess, with a robotic twist.
Tri Strategy 1984 1993 A tic-tac-toe variant that uses triangles and movable pieces.
Universe Construction Kit Construction 1986 1992 Build a universe and then explore it. Perhaps include as part of the Star Control game.
