If you took all the students that felt asleep in class and
laid them end to end, they'd be a lot more comfortable

Evaluations

The following policy was adopted at the Computer Science faculty meeting of May 22, 1996, and rescinded on April 22, 2002.
All faculty, tenured or non-tenured, regular or adjunct, must distribute evaluations forms approved by the chair of the department, in every course. For courses offered under the auspices of external organizations such as OCATE, evaluation materials originated by the sponsoring organization may be substituted for the departmentally approved materials provided anonymity is preserved and the results are transmitted to the department by the sponsoring organization. Anonymity must be guaranteed by one of the usual methods (e.g., forms handed out and collected by students or by the department administrative assistant, and tabulated by the Department Administrative Assistant). It is not acceptable for the faculty member conducting the course to have access to the evaluations after they are completed and before they are tabulated.
The evaluation presented below were collected under the above resolution.

Official evaluations

Official evaluation are tabulated by the department administrative assistant. The tabulation usually takes between 3 and 6 months. Some recent evaluations may not yet be available at the time you browse this document.

CS 510 Design Patterns, Winter 00

CS 510 Design Patterns, Winter 01

Unofficial Evaluations

Unofficial evaluations are tabulated by the intructor. The answer provided by each student is reported verbatim, except for formatting. The instructor adds the average of questions soliciting a numerical score.

Public Evaluations

Students would benefit from the examination of the evaluations of previous offerings of any course in which they plan to enroll. Unfortunately, the evaluation are considered confidential by the CS department at PSU. A group of faculty has volunteered to make their evaluation publicly available, starting in Winter 2003, to allow students to make more informed decisions when selecting classes. These evaluations are accessible from the PSU ACM site.
