It was in this studio that the drawing was made of the revered ‘Abdu'l-Bahá in 1912. The saintly man had indicated that seven in the  morning was the hour at which He would consent to sit for his portrait. Telling about it, Gibran said 'I remained awake all night, for I knew I  should never have an eye or a hand to work with if I took my sleep.'
