CS 581: Theory of Computation 3 credits Instructor: James Hook Class meetings: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:15 - 6:30pm, Willow Creek 313. Final Exam: Tuesday, June 7, 5:30-7:20pm. Students can use this account to connect to the internet and then to PSU/MCECS via webmail. The student account for Winter Term is: Collaboration policy: Unless explicitly instructed otherwise, please hand in solutions that you prepared individually without directly consulting other sources or notes. Never represent the work of others as your own work. You are encouraged to meet with other students to discuss homework problems, but please discard all notes from these sessions. Do not consult notes from discussions with other students or other solutions when preparing your solution. Do not provide other students with access to your solution. If you require resources other than the book to solve a problem please identify those reources with proper citations (but as for collaborations, set the source asside and do not consult it directly when preparing your soultion). When selecting other resources, give priority to original sources, texts, and lecture notes. Do not consult sample soultions specific to the problems assigned. No exam problems are to be discussed with another student until both students have handed in their exams. Students are responsible to keep their exam answers to themselves. Allowing a solution to be copied is as serious a breach of academic integrity as copying. Academic Integrity: Grading: For this class offering we have not been assigned a T.A. or grader. I will be grading all assignments. Be prepared to discuss key ideas in your solutions in the class period where they are due. I may elect to grade a subset of the assigned problems.
