Chinese Junk Sailing Rig Links

I haven't maintained this page in a long time... I'm sure many of the links are defunct. But since I don't have much hope of a boat (let alone a junk rigged one) in the forseeable future, I'm unlikely to do any updates.

• A very good article about the Junk Rig was printed in Sailing Now. If you know nothing about the junk rig, or know nothing good about it, read this!
• Craig O'D's web pages about Chinese Junks & Battened Lugsails is probably the most complete coverage of the junk rig on the net.
• Kingfisher Yacht Owners Association -- Kingfishers produced junks the rigging designed by Hasler.
• The Yangtze Project -- a fellow Portlander who is building a Yangtze Pelican
• Egoist -- an 18 ft stitch and glue plywood boat with a junk schooner rig. The plans are free on the net.
• Plottier Steel Yachts Constructions is building a 50' steel junk rigged boat, here are the Sail Plan and Accommodation drawings.
• MALT'S Mermaid II 1999 -- A dual masted junk-rigged catamaran made out of 528 beer kegs which Ken-ichi Horie sailed single-handed across the Pacific. Wow!
• MacNaughton Yacht Designs has several designs which call for junk rigs: The Coin Collection (which seem reminiscent of Galway Blazer II) and The Silver Gull Series.

• Nova Scotia Junk Rig Association (there isn't much here, and the pages are painfully slow to load... hopefully, both of these problems will be solved someday)
• The Amateur Yacht Research Society has an index of its publications which includes several about the junk rig and some articles by Hasler about wind-vane self-steering gear. It would be nice
