Better estimators for censored data
Median - if sample is symmetrically distributed, median is an unbiased estimator of the mean (not possible if over 50% of data are censored)
Trimmed mean - censor both ends of the sample, often 25%
Winsorized mean - replace all <MDL values by the smallest observation and an equal number of the largest values by the next largest observation
