HOTELS FOR ISMVL.

1. Governor Hotel: This is one of the most luxurious and historic hotels in Portland. Prices of rooms go to hundreds of dollars, but I negotiated a good price of $125 per single room, but you must book early, before January 14. Excellent restaurant and many shops and theaters in the neighborhood. For somebody who likes luxuries. In my opinion this is more interesting hotel to stay than Hilton, especially for foreigners. 13 minutes walk from PSU campus.

Its quality is good and it is inexpensive. $69 for single-person room, $89 for double-occupancy room, only for ISMVL conference members. This hotel has a free parking, which is important. You have to register early. Breakfast = $7, lunch = $10, dinner = 15$, approximately. I tried hard and it seems to me that this is the best price/quality trade-off that is possible to find.

3. Double Tree Hotel:

   Very good hotel, rates are $109 for single and $119 for double has been negotiated. It is also close to campus but not as close as Days Inn. Quality is better than in Days Inn, but both are good enough standard. Both have good restaurants in the same building. This hotel has a free parking, which is important.

4. Avenue 4 Motel: Very inexpensive hotel run by Indian ladies just on the PSU campus. It costs $43 per single room. Room looks clean and has its own restroom and toilette, some have kitchen. But it is not a quality hotel. Very unlikely to find something cheaper. Again, must book early since many visitors are coming in May.

5. Hilton Hotel: Expensive, high quality, very few places available. Downtown Portland. 10 minutes walk from PSU campus.
   
6. Marriott Downtown : This hotel is 10 minutes walk from PSU. Prices negotiable, but higher than in Double Tree. Let me know.
   
7. Marriott Riverfront : This hotel is 8 minutes walk from PSU. Prices negotiable, but high.
