8.3.2.1.2 The New Command
Use the New command to create new test/screen condition files
if the Test/Screen Library does not contain a test/screen condition file
you can edit to resemble the one the package will experience. Press Esc
at any point to cancel.
-
Select the New command from the Test/Screen menu. A Create
a New Test/Screen window appears (see Figure 42). The window contains two
fields: File Name and Environment Description.

-
Type a file name and press Enter. The highlighted moves to the Environment
Description field.
-
Type a description of the test/screen environment. You can type a description
of up to 25 characters. Press Alt-A or click the mouse on Accept.
A window appears informing you that these descriptions have been saved.
Press Esc. Next, a Select Screens window appears (see Figure 43).
Figure 43. The Select Screens window
-
Select the screens you want the test/screen conditions file to use
and press Enter. A check mark appears next to the screens you select,
indicating they are tagged for inclusion in the file. Pressing Enter
again untags them and excludes them from the file. Click on Tag/Untag
to tag or untag all screens at once.
Notice that the number and types of parameter fields available for editing
in the next step depends on which screens you select. For example, if you
select only the Temperature screen, then only temperature parameters will
be available for editing.
-
Press Alt-C or click on Close to accept the screen selections.
An Edit Screen Parameters window appears. Define the screen parameters
using the same procedures you learned when defining environment parameters
in Section 8.2.2.1.2 (see Figure 44). You can edit fields highlighted in
red. Those highlighted in black cannot be edited.
Figure 44. The Edit Screen Parameters window
Notice the number of fields available for editing is also influenced
by whether you choose Ramp, Cyclic, or Steady in the
Temperature, Relative Humidity, and/or Pressure modes
categories, and by whether you choose Random, Harmonic, or
Shock in the Vibration highlMode category.
-
Close to accept all parameter values and activate the test/screen
conditions. Press Esc to cancel.
8.3.2.2 The Edit Option
The Edit option contains three commands:

Parameter enables you to change the parameters of any test/screen
condition.

Comments enables you to read and edit and add information for a
test/screen condition, such as its purpose.
-
Screens enables you to add or delete screens from a test/screen
condition file.
8.3.2.2.1 The Parameter Command
The Parameter command operates as much the same way as the New

8.3.2.2.3 The Screens Command

the existing file.

-
Select the Screens command from the Edit menu. A Select Screens
window appears (see Figure 47).
Figure 47. The Test/Screens window
-

the left mouse button. A check mark appears to the left of the screen name,
indicating it is tagged and will be included in the file. To delete
a screen from the file, select a tagged screen and press Enter
or the left mouse button. The check mark disappears, and the screen will
not be included in the file.
Use the Tag/Untag All hot key in the lower left corner of the
window to tag or untag all entries in the window at once.
-
Close the window by pressing Alt-C to save your changes.
Press Esc to exit without saving changes. Either action returns
you to the Tests/Screen screen. At this point, select the Parameters
command and edit the parameter values, if necessary.
