With appropriate Luclin drops, 20 PP of tinkering items, and a capable Tinker (devices trivial at 215), you can have a Geerlok item. Clicking on this trophy will summon a Temporary bag. Grandmaster's Satchel NO TRADE TEMPORARY WT: 1.0 Weight Reduction: 100% Capacity: 10 Size Capacity: GIANT Since these are NOT LORE, these are great to carry while raiding or working on tradeskills. BUT THEY ARE TEMPORARY. If you camp with any empty Grandmaster's Satchels they will vanish if you are out-of-game for too long. If you camp with any of these Satchels that are not empty they will become heavy, possibly weighing you down to the point that you can no longer move (strength and running speed buffs help). A Huge Disenchanted Backpack NO TRADE WT: 25.0 Weight Reduction: 0% Capacity: 10 Size Capacity: GIANT As a reward for your efforts, other than creating your trophy, you can give one Grandmaster's Satchel to a quest NPC named Jolum, a gnome in the Bazaar. He will return a permanent bag. Grandmaster's Carry-All LORE ITEM NO TRADE WT: 1.2 Weight Reduction: 100% Capacity: 10 Size Capacity: GIANT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Planes of Power and Omens of War ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Originally, a character could work to raise any tradeskill to level 200, and any one general tradeskill to 'grand mastery' from 201 to 250. With Luclin came the addition of Alternate Abilities. Planes of Power added 'New Tanaan Crafts Mastery' to the General AA category, and anyone at Level 51 could earn the ability to advance an additional general tradeskill past the 200 skill level limit. This allowed for any character with enough Experience and AA's to become a master of all seven general trades, and to possibly create all the general trophies at this time. With Omens of War SOE altered the player Titles, allowing characters to choose the title they wore, or to have no title. They also added titles based on tradeskill proficiency. (Unlike the picture in the OoW player's manual, there is no generic trade title like 'Chef'.) Skill level Title (These titles need correcting?) 0- 99 (none) 100-149 Beginner 150-199 Apprentice 200-249 Journeyman 250-299 Expert 300 Master Yes, they raised the top skill level limit for all(?) tradeskills from 250 to 300. Also, if you raise all general tradeskills into a level of proficiency you are given an addition title of Artisan ('Apprentice Artisan', etc.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prophecy of Ro ------------------------------------------------------------------------ With Prophecy of Ro you may test your skills even further. Yes, they include Alchemy, Make Poison, Spell Research and Tinkering. In the totally recreated Freeport West there are two new NPCs outside the city walls in the newbie area. Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs (female Halfling) Judge Marion Teld`mare (female Erudite) Baublie will 'test' (task) you to prove your proficiency in any of the tradeskills. Each test has ten steps that require you to Create one or more of a specific item, the steps give the correct name of the item to be made so no guessing, and are listed in an ascending order difficulty. If you have an item before the task they will not count as you must make them with the task (Create, not Find or Acquire). Each batch of items you make on the test list will update the task. Turning in the required items to the Judge will also update the ten Deliver steps of the task. (Do not eat or drink your only results!) NOTE: If you request a task having already attained a high level of proficiency (250 skill and above) one task will be for you to create and submit a Luclin era trophy! Although this is a task and tasks normally only allow credit for actions taken after they are started, you are permitted to skip the actual creation of the trophy if you already have created the one needed for this task... only fair since they are Lore and can not be traded. Simply deliver the task item to Judge Marion Teld`mare and you will be credited for both the creation and the submission of the item toward the completion of the task! (Be sure to visit Jolum in the Bazaar first if you haven't already done so.) Once the last item has been given to the Judge you will receive a scorecard, give this to Baublie for your trophy. Do not worry, she only gives out a Beginner [Tradeskill] Trophy regardless of your level. If the task was above the level of Beginner you will also receive a Certificate. To properly evolve your trophy first equip the trophy and then combine the certificate in the appropriate tradeskill container. Level Skill level Trophy Modifier Satchel - 0- 49 (none, must have a skill of 50 to take a test) 1 50- 99 Beginner + 1% ( 3 Max) 6 x 40% 2 100-149 Apprentice + 2% ( 6 Max) 8 x 40% 3 150-199 Freshman + 4% (12 Max) 8 x 50% 4 200-249 Journeyman + 5% (15 Max) 10 x 50% 5 250-299 Expert + 8% (24 Max) 10 x 75% 6 300 Master + 12% (36 Max) 10 x 100% 7 300 (evolved, below) + 15% (45 Max) 12 x 100% Denmother's Rolling Pin Blacksmith's Adamantine Hammer Brewmaster's Mug Fletcher's Arrow Intricate Jewelers Glass Clay Flinger's Loop Mystical Bolt Mundunugu Medicine Stick Peerless Pestle Ethereal Quill Hovering Contraption Each trophy has a unique appearance when equipped and is placeable. Like the Luclin era trophies, these also summon weight reducing satchels, but their capacity and precentage of wt reduction scales up to 100% with the Master's trophy. You may summon any number of no-trade satchels. To make one Tradeskill specific satchel (ie. Expert Artisan Satchel summoned from an Expert Baker Trophy) into a permanent bag (Expert Baker Carry-All) visit Jolum in the Bazaar. Give him a satchel for an Essence, then combine this in an appropriate tradeskill container to make this bag into permanent Lore, No Trade bag. As you improve your skill in a given trade your trophy will evolve. Revisit Jolum to make better permanent Carry-Alls. Yes, you can have one permanent bag per tradeskill. (Expert Baker, Expert Brewer, etc.) No, you cannot have two from the same tradeskill. I could not make a Freshman Tailor Carry-All while I had the Apprentice Tailor Carry-All, I was given a LORE item warning. Empty and destroy the lesser bag, summon a newer and better bag, give that to Jolum. Fully evolved trophies originally summoned 10-slot satchels, at some point that changed and we now have 12-slot satchels. Summoned satchels are Temporary, and if left empty when you camp will disappear. If the satchel is not empty then it will convert into A Heavy Disenchanted Pack with a weight of 25.0, although other stats remain the same (Size, Capacity, Size Cap). House of Thule added rediculously large capacity containers and I believe this was when the generically named Disenchanted Packs indicate their capacity in their name -- a 12-slot satchel now being A Heavy Disenchanted Pack XII. With the addition of containers that hold only tradeskill items, but at 100% wt reduction and very many slots the benefit of a fully evolved trophy improved. If you created a permanent bag from such a trophy, empty and destroy it, go though the steps with Jolum again, combine the Essence in the appropriate container and you will receive two items: the permanent bag as before plus an additional Magic, Lore, 24-slot, 100% wt reduction Component Bag named for the trophy but not limited to that skill's components -- Adamantine Component Bag, Denmother's Component Bag, etc. Since you can store empty containers inside other containers, you can find these Lore, No Trade bags since they are noticably white. Or skip this and make/trade/buy Extraplar Trade Satchels with 32-slots that are not Lore and not No Trade. (These satchels are No Fail, but require a tailoring skill of 300 to make.) Also, Trophies may evolve independent of your actual Skill. Trophies gain a percentage of evolution after the successful creation of several non-trivial items, ranging from 1 to 10 combines per percentage point. While tailoring to try to reach the next title I received no skill-ups for a while but the trophy did evolve while having a skill of 148. Conversely, trophies have been known to "get stuck" at times, that is to say making dozens of successful combines, gaining skill points also, but having the item's evolution stopped at a certain percentage point. Zoning and/or moving the equipped trophy to a different slot might help. In such cases and in normal conditions it might occur that you gain a skill achievement (every 50 points, also gaining a new tradeskill Title) and the trophy has not evolved or is vastly behind evolving compared to your current skill... Something neat happens if the trophy is not stuck: each further successful combine of a non-trivial item should add more points to the evolution of the trophy until it advances to its next level. After becoming un-stuck my trophy was still advancing normally (a percentage point after several good combines) and I reached a skill of 250. After that it started adding many percentage points per combine. When it evolved it went be back to advancing normally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alternate Abilities ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The General AA 'New Tanaan Crafts Mastery,' now 'New Tannaan Crafting' was mentioned above. Originally only Enchanters received a Class AA of 'Jewel Craft Mastery,' later it changed to be a General AA for all characters with new AAs for all other tradeskills except Tinkering; the Archetype AA 'Arcane Tongues' for Research is only available to the original researching classes - Enchanter, Magician, Necromancer, Wizard. "Decrease failure chance of [Tradeskill] combines by 10, 20 and 50%" With Omens of War came 3 ranks of the 'Salvage' AA, later to be 6 ranks. "This ability gives you the chance to automatically recover an item that would otherwise be lost on a failed tradeskill combine." Yes, each rank causes a salvage attempt during a failed combine, you can potentially save all components even if you failed a combine. What is salvaged is random. Ranks of New Tanaan Crafting are available at Level 51 and the Masrery AAs are available at Level 59. Ranks of Salvage are available every 5 levels starting at Level 60. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erollisi.temperance TemperanceEM@yahoo.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------
