This page contains links to files containing data for ME 449/549.
If you were to take data manually, you could store the data in the perfPlateData.xls spreadsheet.
However we are using the data acquisition system to record
the data automatically. Instead, send me the MAT file
that you export from the flowBenchDataSelector
tool.
I will then post your data below so that other folks in
the class can download and analyze it.
Data collected from the fan curve measurements are provided as MATLAB .mat files. Save these files directly to your computer by right-clicking on the link. (Control-click also works on a PC and a Mac).
The file names for the perforated plate data are of the form
DxxxSyyy.mat
where xxx
is the diameter of the holes in
the plate and yyy
is the spacing between the holes. The values of
xxx
and yyy
are the fractional part of the dimension
measured in inches. For example D187S063.mat
is the data file for
perforated plate have holes with a diamter of 0.187 inch and spacing between
holes of 0.063 inch.
The aperture refers to the size of the opening in the plate covering the perforated plate sample. All dimensions are in inches
Hole | Aperture | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Size | Spacing | MAT file | |||
0.055 | 0.093 | 6 x 6 | D055S093.mat | ||
0.092 | 0.153 | 6 x 6 | D092S153.mat | ||
0.117 | 0.188 | 6 x 6 | D117S188.mat | ||
0.127 | 0.189 | 6 x 6 | D127S189.mat | ||
0.187 | 0.250 | 6 x 6 | D187S250.mat | ||
0.244 | 0.380 | 4 x 4 | D244S380.mat |
Store your data in the fanCurveData.xls spreadsheet and then send the (completed) spreadsheet to me via email. I will then post your data below so that other folks in the class can download and analyze it.
For supply voltage for each fan, the data is supplied as a spreadsheet
and as a plain text file. The plain text file is in the format that
can be read by the loadFlowBenchData
MATLAB function.
Note that you will need to manually extract the ambient pressure
and thermistor data from the header lines of the text file.
