Grande Ronde River

These pictures document a five day canoe trip down the Grande Ronde River in North East Oregon and South East Washington. We launched from Minam on the Wallowa River and landed at Heller Bar on the Snake River, for a total distance of 91 miles. The trip took place in early May 2007. River levels were around 5500 cfs at the Troy gage. The river difficulty is generally Class II+ (continuous) with one Class III+ rapid (The Narrows) near the end. Paddlers are Jonathan and Kirti Walpole and Karl and Kim Andersson.
