The Mobile Networking Group is developing (or has developed) new protocols to support mobile hosts in the current and future internet environment. Specifically:

Power-efficient Routing protocols for ad hoc networks.

Developed a gateway to connect mobile networks to the internet called MING.

Network layer support for QoS in mobile networks.

Efficient information distribution in ad hoc networks. See our animation for a simple explanation of this problem.
