FACILITIES:

Dr. Sailor directs both the Energy and Environment Lab which houses his research projects and the Green Building Research Laboratory which acts as a shared resource for the green building community.

Hawaii
Energy and Envrionment Lab: This lab was established in 2005 and houses equipment for green roof testing (soil thermal properties instrumentation, data logging weather stations, soil temperature & moisture sensors). The lab also includes a calibration facility for high accuracy RTD sensors and the entire suite of mobile traverse measurement systems (datalogging GPS, temperature and humidity). In addition to having a number of workstations for student use we maintain several multiple CPU linux machines for high end computing. This lab houses resources associated with externally-funded research projects, and while not part of the GBRL shared-resource facility, works in close collaboration with the GBRL.

Energy & Environment Lab

Green Building Research Laboratory:

The Green Building Research Laboratory (www.greenbuilding.pdx.edu) was established in 2009 with initial funding from Portland State University's Center for Sustainable Processes and Practices and the Oregon Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies Center (OR-BEST). These investments were soon followed by a federal appropriation within the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill. The lab serves as a shared resource for the Oregon University System and for the green building industry in Portland and beyond.
