Research interests

I currently work in two main areas: Data Stream Management Systems (DSMS), and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). I am interested in various problems in DSMS: (1) reduction of query processing latency by dynamically responding to varying characteristics of the stream, (2) safe processing of punctuated data streams, and (3) schema evolution in continuous queries. In ITS, I am interested in (1) traffic flow theory, (2) bottleneck characterization and identification, and (3) optimal sensor placement.
