( Transportation -from airport ("PDX") to the the PSU campus (and the eventual hotel) can be done with a Taxi, Portland's light rail (max) system. The drive from PDX to PSU is 20 minutes traffic permitting, the light rail may take 30 to 40 minutes. The max's (metropolitan area express) red line starts at the airport terminal near the baggage claim area and costs $1.55 one way. getting around Portland - the immediate downtown area on the West side of the Williamette can be walked. The light rail and trolley system runs though the downtown area as well as a Trimet bus network. The hotel and PSU campus are within Portland's so-called "fareless square."
