TASKS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE MEETING IN PLANAR.
  1. Familiarize yourself with the voice recognition project done by my current Capstone group that works for Lattice Corporation.
  2. Read on WWW about current software for speech recognition:
  3. Read on WWW about current chips for voice recognition, find their data sheets and understand what they do.
    Again, contact with my current Lattice Capstone group would be useful.
  4. Find books and information on WWW about fundamental research in voice recognition.
    1. Fundamentals of Hidden Markov Models.
    2. Dynamic Programming Algorithm.
    3. Viterbi Algorithm.
    4. ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) on mobile vehicles.
      1. Requirement for vehicle (car, truck) power systems (very high noise). Planar will provide a 6.5"VGA transportation grade AMLCD (Sunlight readable with auto dimming).
      2. Maybe the controllable is a GPS receiver interfaced to the computer?
      3. Processing speech in multi-speaker and high noise environments, especially when the speech has been encoded.
