The "Community Outreach" goal of this year's flight
team is to engage the community in a dialog on topics such as
science, engineering, microgravity and space. We will discuss
how our experience with the Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities
Program is connected with these topics. Our definition of community
will include local schools, K-12, other engineering students as
well as various other groups in the community, both amateur and
professional.
We plan to discuss a variety of topics and how they related to
our experience. We would like to convey the excitement we feel
about being able to use our education and skills in a program
to do real scientific research that has the ability to affect
our lives and the lives of others. We would also like to convey
the possibilities for future students and individuals to be a
part of similar programs.
We also believe it is important to demonstrate the need for
critical thinking and a good engineering methodology, also to
have a good foundation in math and science. We hope it will be
a fun and exciting experience for everyone involved.
