Home page of Steve Kirkendall
Greetings!
This no-frills home page exists primarily to point you toward my free
software.
If you need to reach me via email, you can do so at
kirkenda@cs.pdx.edu.
Free software:
- untar
- This is a tiny, highly-portable program for extracting files from Unix tar
archives, or .tar.gz (.tgz) archives.
There is no README file, but you can get a help message by running it with
no arguments.
You can download the
source code,
16-bit MS-DOS executable, or
Win32 executable.
- elvis 2.1
- Elvis is a clone of the Unix "vi" editor, with many extensions.
There is an online
README page.
You can also download the
source code,
16-bit MS-DOS executables, or
Windows95/98/NT executables.
- Blursk 1.3
- Blursk is a visualization plugin for XMMS
MP3 player.
- tilemkrs.tgz
- tilemkrs.tgz
is a gzipped tar archive of a couple of tiny programs for generating
background tiles for use with Netscape or as the root image of an X terminal.
Loads of fun.
Interested in the history of vi?
You can find an old interview with Bill Joy here.
I'd like to thank Portland State for providing me with free use of
their computer systems.
It's amazing to think that I've had the same email address for over ten years now!
