Describing the Ch’in Body
The surface of the ch’in is round, and covers (the
body). Thus we say it is above. The bottom of the ch’in is hollow and faces
up. We say it is below. The head looks down and is broad. We say it is in front. The tail of the ch’in is reduced and
narrow. We say it is behind. The two sides are slanted and straight. We call them the left and right.[1]
