Class mailing list:
There is a class mailing list. The web interface is:https://webmail.cecs.pdx.edu/mailman/listinfo.cgi/cs581
To subscribe by email send a message with just the word `help' as subject or in the body, to:
cs581-request@mailhost.cecs.pdx.edu

Collaboration policy:
You may meet with other students to discuss homework problems, but please discard all notes from these sessions. Do not consult notes from discussions with other students or other solutions when preparing your solution. Do not provide other students with access to your solution. If you require resources other than the book to solve a problem site your sources.

No exam problems are to be discussed with another student until both students have handed in their exams.

Students are responsible to keep their exam answers to themselves. Allowing a solution to be copied is as serious a breach of academic integrity as copying.

Academic Integrity:
Academic integrity is a core value of the university. You are expected to behave with integrity at all times. Cheating will result in a grade of zero on the assignment or exam on which the student cheats and the initiation of disciplinary action at the university level.

Grading:
As a guideline I will base 40% of the grade on the final exam, 30% on the midterm, and 30% on homework. Other factors, including class participation, may be considered as well.

Assignments:
All assignments are due at the beginning of class. Late assignments will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances, preferably with prior approval.

Students Requiring Accommodation:
If you are a student with a disability in need of academic accommodations,
you should register with Disability Services for Students and notify the
instructor immediately to arrange for support services.
