Research Overview

Dr. Robert Doneker's research interest is development of decision support systems for simulation modeling and environmental management. As a registered professional civil engineer, Dr. Doneker is engaged in technology transfer through application of laboratory research into engineering practice. By using an interdisciplinary approach and employing techniques of artificial intelligence, systems analysis, and mathematical modeling, environmental management decisions relating to problems in hydraulics, hydrology, and agriculture can be optimized with state-of-the-art research methodologies. Current research areas include developing systems for point and nonpoint source pollutant transport and control, diffuser outfall design, and regulatory compliance.

Teaching Overview

Dr. Robert Doneker's teaching interest includes courses for both traditional MS/PhD program students as well as continuing education for practicing environmental professionals. Dr. Doneker is currently developing courses for environmental risk analysis, environmental systems analysis, water quality modeling, and watershed management.
