Abstract
Data is pouring in from satellites, sensors, instruments, cameras
and devices. Everyone is a publisher. Readily available computing
systems generate more data than can possibly be meaningfully examined.
Data demands attention. Our systems are increasingly complex; we need
both model these systems and to understand the impact of policies and
socio-economic factors on our systems. Today's technology is inadequate for
modeling, simulating, capturing and sharing knowledge and
presenting results in a meaningful and compelling way.
This presentation discusses the challenges and a possible
approach for dealing with these challenges.
