The word communion breaks up into two different words which
are 'com' meaning 'with' , and 'union' making the word communion to mean
union with. Who are we to have union with? We are to have union with our
Lord and also with His church (His Children). As Spurgeon has said, "that
while we have many ways of COMMUNION WITH CHRIST, yet the receiving of
Christ into our souls as our Saviour is the best way of communion with Him."
In John chapter 17 our Lord prays on our behalf. What really cought
my attention, was Him praying that we would be one in Him as He is one in The
Father, that we would all be one. That we would be made perfect in one. Now
is not that an awsome thought!? It's not just a thought. It's the truth. And
we know that our Lord has prayed it for us, therefor, we know that we can, with
great confidence, know that our Lord and Father has made us one in Him. Even
though it may seem as though we are a mess. We ARE, with out Him. But thanks
be to God, He sent His own Son to our defence. And Thanks to Him, He desires
our fellowship. That we would know Him. Wherefor, we now have this great
privilege of knowing Him, and being made complete in Him. This is what it's
all about. To be with Him. What a Joy it is to know, that we will spend
eternity with Him. Not only after we leave this earth. But also, while we're
here as well.
How is this made possible? Well... He has overcome the world (John
16:33). And He is made the way for our salvation. He is our salvation. So,
by His grace, through faith, we can, first, believe in our heart and confess
with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. So we believe on Him!? This seems
to be too confusing for most people to understand. But, it's really a simple
task. All we have to do is, LET GO OF OURSELVES AND ALLOW THE LORD TO TAKE
CONTROL. TRUST HIM. To believe on Him means To put your trust in Him. You
believe that He is right and we are wrong. We no longer carry the burden of
carring for our life anymore. He does all the caring for us. For He has said
to take His yoke upon us because His burden is light. We once had a heavy
burden, now this burden is made light. All because He desires our fellowship.
This is His burden on us. You see the point? there is no burden in Christ.
Just know Him, And fellowship with Him and His own children, which we are a
part of.
The whole ideal of taking the bread and the wine is to remember
Him, that He has made it possible for us to partake of Him. And in partaking of
His body, we have fellowship with Him. 'And He took the bread, and gave thanks,
and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given
for you: this do in remembrance of me.' 'Likewise also the cup after
supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for
you.' [Luke 22:19-20]. The bread symbolizes His body. We partake of His body
which is unleavened. Whereas, from Adam we recieved the leaven from his sinful
body. Christ knew no sin. We, therefor, partake of a sinless body. So that
our body will be sinless. Not because of works that we have done, lest we
boast. And then the cup of the new testament which is In His Blood; which we
partake of, giving us the new testament. Which is in Christ Himself so that
we cannot break the testament as we have the first testament, which is no
longer valid.
Christ died, and raised from the dead, by the glory of The Father. Why?
So that He could have fellowship with us. And that is why we break bread and
take the cup. To do in remembrance of Him. So, the first step, is through
salvation. If we are not His children, we can have no fellowship with Him.
Which is anathyma. I don't want that, and I am sure you don't either. I'm
sure you, as well as I, want to have His fellowship.
There are many ways of communing with Him. Reading His Word is one
way. We get to know Him through His Word. He can also speak to us through His
Word. His Word (the Bible), changes our lives and purifies us so that we can
have a closer knit relationship with our Lord. Praying is also another way of
communing with Him. He wants and desires to hear us call upon Him. He desires
to hear our praising Him. This is why He created our mouth, so that we would
talk to Him, and so that we would praise Him with our lips. We also have
communion with Him by worshiping Him. For He well deserves our worship. It is
a glorious sight for Him to see and to hear us worship and adore Him. For this
also is why He has created us, to please Him.
So we ought to please Him with our life. I believe that David knew
this. That is why He had a huge praise choir. He made it a ministry. Not to
perform for the people, but to perform for The LORD.
How easy our life can be. If we would just give it all to Him. Yes,
we will go through trials of life. But there is no better way to go through
life on this earth, than to go through with Him. With Our Lord, life is
glorious, He makes it glorious. And all these trials that we go through, with
Him, they are just a step, made closer to our Lord.
-To know that Jesus loves me is one thing;
but to be visited by Him in love, is more....
It is the actual, though spiritual, coming
of Christ which we so much desire. C.H. Spurgeon-
So, I pray that this is an incouragement to all that
have read this letter.
May The Lord Bless You
And Keep You, May His
Face Shine Upon You,
And Be Gracious Unto You.
Amen.
