Bhuricha Deen Sethanandha is a doctoral student at the department of computer science, Portland State University. He received a Master of Information Technology and Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and a Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. While studying at CMU, he also worked at the Software Engineering Institute as a research assistant.

Mr. Sethanandha research interest is in quantitative software project management and software metrics. He is interested in applying simulation technologies on software organizations as well as open source software projects. His dissertation focuses on providing a cost effective solution using software process simulation to improve performance of software projects.

At SEI, he developed the simulation test-bad for mobile adaptive architecture using Java and Java Swing under supervision of Rick Kazman. During the summer of 2003, he developed the Assumptions Management System which the web-based application used to manage assumptions information extracted from Java source code using JSP and Servlet. Prior to his study in the United State, he worked as a technology analyst at Andersen Consulting Thailand (aka Accenture) in the SAP projects using ABAP4 and developed at the web-based personnel training system using Microsoft ASP and DCOM technology.

At PSU, he has taken a number of software engineering focus courses including open source software engineering, software testing, empirical software engineering. His focus is in the development of software engineering tools to support software development and management.

During the past two years he has worked with Dr. David Raffo in developing software process simulation modeling tools. These tools are used by many software organizations. He has developed tools to help automated the software development activity including database maintenance and automated testing using Visual Basic and Visual C++. He has developed software process simulation libraries that integrate with external database based on Extend simulation framework using MODL language.
