PSU CS 510 CS Final Presentation
March 15, 6:00-9:00PM
CS 510 CS students are expected to be able to
locate, understand, and present relevant literature.
To this end, you are expected to:
- Locate a technical paper which is relevant
to the course and of interest to you.
- Prepare 6-12 overhead transparencies explaining
- The ideas contained in the paper, at a sufficiently
high level.
- The relevance of these ideas to the course material,
and vice versa.
- Your evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of
this work.
- Present these slides in class at Portland State University
during the last class meeting. You will be allowed a
maximum of 20 minutes for the talk, plus a few minutes
for questions.
Please choose a paper by Wednesday, March 7, and send me
by e-mail either the bibliographic reference or the actual
paper. Possible sources of paper topic include
- Bibliographies from things I have already given out.
- CS bibliography web sites such as
ResearchIndex
or the Collection
of Computer Science Bibliographies.
- Ask me for ideas (but not titles).
- Things I have talked about in class.
- Things you are doing at work, in your other classes,
or for fun.
You will need to make an appointment with me to go over
your talk once you have a draft of your presentation ready.
This should not take more than half an hour or so. Send me
e-mail to make this appointment. If you need help putting
your presentation together, please let me know: I am happy
to help out in any way I can.
I hope this will be fun for you and informative for all
of us!
