Teaching

My role is to provide a structure (syllabus, textbook, lectures, assignments, advising and personal attention) intended to make learning effective and fun. Students are ultimately responsible of their own learning. I welcome feedback in a constructive and productive environment where enjoyment and individual satisfaction are as important as learning and discipline.

Given enough information, students make wise decisions on which courses to take and how much effort to invest in them. I want to make available on-line all the information that I have about my courses, e.g., current handouts and assignments, previous exams, grades and feedback. I hope that this information will help both prospective students to decide whether to enroll in my courses and enrolled students to learn as much as possible for the effort they are putting in.
