Visual Software - User Information

ATTENTION! If Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 or similar products have never been installed on your computer, to run some of these modules, you may need to copy mfc42.dll, msvcp60.dll and msvcrt.dll to your WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

Once you download an executable, run it using Run option in Window Start Menu (or double click on the executable in the file manager). A blank gray screen will open. Please press <New> button (or select <New> option from the File Menu). A default example will appear in one of the text windows of the program. Press the <Read> button on the toolbar (in many cases, you can identify functinality of a button by observing tooltips appearing when you bring the cursor close to it). Data transformations specific to the given module will take place and the results will be shown on the screen.

At your own risk, you may play around with other buttons. In the worst case, software will crash and you will have to restart it. None of the crashes, to our knowledge, affect your hard drive and Windows. To run examples other than the default one, use Example Menu (if available). Hopefully, soon you will discover that most of the modules are quite easy to navigate. (In the case of ASTER, for example, once the network is visualized, all the navigation is done by clicking the left mouse button on different objects in the picture).

Once again, apologies for the temporary lack of on-line information. In the future, a stardand Windows help containing detailed instructions will be added to each of the software modules.

Your comments are welcome.
